Recognitions to Honor K Family members
The Ohio District of Kiwanis and the Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation have agreed to endow a number of recognitions programs that are given out at Ohio District and SLP conventions.
Here is an overview of each award. Individuals and Kiwanis Clubs can donate to each recognition award by visiting the ODKF.org website and clicking on the Donate Button.
B. David Whiteman Secretary Award
This award is given to an outstanding club secretary. Selection and nomination information is sent out each year so that the award can be given out at the annual Ohio District convention.
The award is given out in honor of David Whiteman who served as District Secretary for many years.
David Gillespie Support of SLP’s Award
This award is given to an Ohio District Lt. Governor who has done an exemplary job of supporting the Ohio District Service Leadership Programs.
Selection and nomination information is sent out each year so that the award can be given out at the annual Ohio District convention.
The award is given out in honor of David Gillespie who as an Ohio District Governor had a real passion for our Service Leadership Programs.
Douglas Everett Outstanding District Chair Award
This award is given to an Ohio District Chair. The Ohio District Governor selects the award winner from those they have appointed as District Chairs for their year as Governor.
The award is given out at the annual Ohio District convention.
he award is given out in honor of Douglas Everett an Ohio District Governor who recognized the importance of District Chairs as essential parts of the Ohio District Kiwanis team of leaders.
Albert and Iris Gilbert Humanitarian Award
This award is given to an individual Kiwanis member who as demonstrated a Humanitarian heart in both their Kiwanis and community service activities.
The award is given in honor of Albert and Iris Gilbert, past Ohio Governor and First Lady who exemplified the meaning of humanitarian service in all they did during their Kiwanis and community lives.
Selection and nomination information is available each year so that the award can be given out at the annual Ohio District convention.

Dale and Polly Leach Key Club Scholarship Award
Dale and Polly Leach were very active with Key Club at their local school and the Ohio District.
As Governor and First Lady of Ohio Kiwanis they were great promoters of all things Key Club. You could see them at many local, Division, District, and International level Key Club events.
They have endowed a Fund to provide annual scholarships to Ohio Key Club members.

Clubs can nominate an individual to receive the Albert and Iris Gilbert Humanitarian award by completing the form and submitting by the due date.
The individual recognized will receive a certificate and a $200 award to be given to their favorite charity
They will be recognized at the Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation annual meeting in August
